DETROIT, MI (May 18, 2020)  During these unique times where safety requirements and social distancing are critical, The LEE Group’s Sixth Annual Small Business Workshop has been rescheduled as a free, online event beginning June, 2020.  The Small Business Workshop, presented by Fifth Third Bank will be conducted through a series of online sessions kicking off 6/17, followed by sessions 6/24 24, 7/15, 7/22 and 7/29.

With economic and business challenges stemming from COVID-19, this year’s theme is “Navigating the Headwinds of Crisis “. The series will begin with a 90-minute session featuring a keynote speaker and a panel discussion focused on business recovery, sustainability and pivoting during these extraordinary times.  In subsequent weeks, each workshop topic will be led by a subject matter expert.

What can I do now for my business?  How do I recover and achieve business sustainability and ultimately, growth?  What methods work?  What strategies can be implemented to address these challenges?

These questions will be addressed by speakers and panelists representing the Detroit business community. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn while gaining tools and resources from these business leaders during their presentations and Q&A sessions.

“We are pleased to announce the sixth annual Small Business Workshop, which is normally held during Small Business Week in May, will now be offered online,” says Mark S. Lee, President & CEO of the LEE Group, LLC.  “COVID-19 has impacted business models, but the appetite for information continues and this event will provide access to resources to attendees looking to recover while focusing one business sustainability during unprecedented times, like we’ve never have seen before.”

Lee continues, “We are proud Fifth Third Bank is the presenting sponsor and without their support, we would not be in our sixth year.  Due to their continued commitment, I’m also pleased to announce this event is free.”

“Despite how the pandemic has changed our way of life, business must continue in order to protect our economy and our communities. It simply must be conducted in different ways,” said David Girodat, Regional President of Fifth Third Bank in Eastern Michigan. “That means continuing to provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with tools and resources to help them succeed, under any circumstances – even a pandemic. I’m pleased that Fifth Third Bank is able to support a modified Small Business Workshop this year.”
